One World One Heart gift

Back in January I took part in One World One Heart,
organised by Lisa Swifka of A Whimsical Bohemian
to find out more take a look at her blog and my earlier posts.
I was lucky to win a few prizes and one of them was a surprise
handmade gift by Lisa of Lydia's Treasures.
This is what has arrived in the post this morning.
Firstly, my apologise for the dark photos, the weather is not kind
at the moment for taking photos but I didn't want to delay
in sharing with you.

This gorgeous bag has been embroidered with birds, within a heart.

and this is what it contained............
a cute little bird, red gingham one side and floral the other,
a red rosette keyring,
and a notepad shaped as a handbag with a beaded handle.

A big thank you to Lisa for such a wonderful gift.
It has certainly brighten up a dull day!

Sunshine Blog Award

I have been lucky to be nominated for the Sunshine blog award,
by Ley, the very talented lady behind Vintage Beadery on Folksy.
As I have received this award before,
this time instead of passing it on,
I will tell you some more about the person who nominated me.
Like me she lives on the coast of North Devon
and uses her finds of sea glass and ceramics from the local beaches,
and mounts them in vintage and modern beads.

Here is a couple of the amazing pieces to be found in her shop.
Red cabochon necklace, the colours in this are so vibrant

This Peacock's Eye Pendant is gorgeous, I love the colours.

If you would like to find out more about Ley and her work,
you can see more over at her blog.

In the small glimpse of sunshine.....

In the small glimpse of sunshine we have had today,

between all the pouring rain,

I was able to take a photo of my latest earrings.

These are made using lovely blue ceramic butteflys,

fluttering above some spring flowers.

It has now gone really dark again,

so no more photos today.

Just a chance for some more crafting,

before schools out time!

and has eaten his ears tonight!

a fat quarter of fabric, and some more of those wonderful buttons.

A very big thank you to Emma, for a great selection of gifts.

Now you may be wondering what I sent to Emma.

Before I packaged everything up I took some photos.

Here is the lavender bag,
I had to confess I didn't make it but it is handmade

I knew Emma liked duck egg blue, so when I saw this mug
covered in flowers I thought it was ideal

I've had mail!

The postman brought a lovely surprise this morning.
A package all the way from Italy and my blog friend Michela,
When I opened the envelope, I discovered two gifts and a card. The paper was beautiful butterflies and the ribbons in my favourite colours of green and purple!
The green gift was these beautiful beads, containing a flower design.
They really are so pretty, I am not sure I have been able to do them justice in this photo.

The purple gift, was this little bag with my initial embroidered on it. So pretty as well, perfect for a lavender bag, or even to store some nice beads!

Michela, the gifts are wonderful and shows a lot of thought was put to them.

A very BIG thank you.

Michela was taking part in a pay it forward, having received a gift herself she then sends one on to someone else, in the hope that they too will forward on a gift to someone.

As I was lucky enough to receive two gifts, I would like to send a little gift to two other people.

It is so nice to get surprises in the mail!

I will send a gift to the first two people to comment on this post.

Please email me your addresses and I will send it during

the next month when you least expect it!

Launch of WowThankYou

Today is the launch of a new website promoting UK handmade crafts - WowThankYou

The aim is to promote the talents of artisans from all over the UK. With over 1000 products currently on offer, from 230 small, often home-based businesses. WowThankYou encourages the general public to look beyond the shopping centres and buy unique, home-grown gifts instead.

WowThankYou has been set up by friends Tracey Kifford and Georgena Bowdidge who, having suspended their careers to look after young children, conceived the business concept after failing to find ‘different’ quality gifts online.

So, when you have a spare moment today or over the weekend, pop over to the WowThankYou site and see what they have to offer.
