Do you know about Dreamaid?
Do you know about dreamaid? It is the marketplace that makes a difference.
"Dreamaid - its commerce with a soul, allowing customers to buy original hand crafted goods and allows artists to help themselves - we like to call it art and soul." these are the words of Peter McAteer the Managing Director. If you would like to read more of his vision, take a look here.
The BBC are doing a feature tonight in the 'Theo's Adventure Capitalists' programme on BBC2 at 8pm.
I have opened a shop here, and each sale will contribute a percentage to the Dreamaid charity.
If you ever needed a good reason to make a purchase, this is it!

Folksy Interview
I'm Zoe and I live with my nearly-husband Jason and my 11 yr old daughter Amber, who I have been home educating for the last 3 and a half years. I am addicted to Coke (the drink!!), Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Eastenders. I'm 32 years old, but feel 18 on the inside and have the sense of humour of a 12 year old. I'm a messy, disorganised Virgo and always running late, but I always seem to get things done despite this.

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU FIRST GET INTO YOUR CRAFT?
It's a long and boring story involving my first use of a sewing machine when I worked for Burberry many years ago. I then didn't use another sewing machine until I was given my 1970s Singer about 10 years ago by a little old lady I used to know. I hardly used it until 2009 when I was suddenly thrust into the world of self employment, after being on my own and on state benefits for a number of years. I have always loved sewing and creating things since I was a little girl, and having to suddenly change the direction of my life has meant I can do just that. It's the best job in the world!

TELL US ABOUT THE BEST THING YOU'VE EVER MADE?
~~~~~
WHERE DO YOU SELL ONLINE?
I mostly concentrate my efforts on my Folksy shop where I aim at the UK market, but I also aim at the international market with my Zibbet shop . I have also recently set up a shop on Facebook.
~~~~~
WHAT IS YOUR BEST SELLING ITEM?
My bestsellers so far have been my VW Camper Cushions and one has gone as far away as Florida to take part in a VW Rally which I'm really pleased about.~~~~~
WHAT ITEM DO YOU REALLY WISH WOULD SELL, THAT HASN'T SO FAR?
I have had loads of views on my Retro Dots Pencil Case, which I think is gorgeous but no one has bought it and I really wish they would because it's in such summery colours, it's a shame to leave it in the dark stored away!~~~~~
IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY, WOULD YOU STILL SELL YOUR CRAFTS?
Yes, I definitely would. Making things is such a big part of who I am, I can't imagine not doing it. And if I won the lottery, I'd be able to buy so many lovely fabrics to make more things with, and expand and maybe employ someone to do all my packing, posting and promoting!
~~~~~
TELL US ABOUT YOUR DREAM CRAFT-ROOM SET UP?
It would take a lottery win, but I'd love a big, light, airy room with a big window with pretty views across the countryside. I'd have white shelf storage units along the walls, filled with boxes of supplies, and a huge work table high enough for me to stand up to sew, as sitting down to do it gives me terrible back pain. I'd have inspiring pictures all over the walls, and of course space for my computer and my trusty sewing machine!
Thank you to Zoe, for telling us some more about herself.
